What Autify is
Autify describes itself as an "AI Platform for Software Testing". It was founded in San Francisco in 2016, has an office in Tokyo, and says it had raised US $32 million in total by March 2024 (about Autify). This page is a comparison, not a hands-on Autify review: the facts below come from Autify's own website. As of September 2026, it offers:
- Aximo, an autonomous AI testing agent. You describe a scenario in plain English, and Aximo moves through web, mobile or desktop apps like a user, using natural language and visual recognition, with no scripts or selectors to maintain (Aximo). It runs the same test on real iOS and Android devices (mobile app testing).
- Genesis, AI test design. It analyses product specifications, source code and files to produce features, testing viewpoints and detailed test cases for your team to review (Genesis).
- Nexus, test automation built on Playwright, with a natural-language recorder, test cases generated from requirements, AI fixes for broken locators and export to editable Playwright scripts (Nexus).
- AI-Native Managed QA, where a dedicated Autify professional services lead runs AI agents on your behalf (managed QA).
Autify's original no-code recorder, formerly Autify for Web and Autify for Mobile, is still sold as Autify NoCode.
Why teams look for an Autify alternative
Autify's products span most of the testing lifecycle, from test design to execution. Teams that look for an Autify alternative usually want a different end point, not a different way to run tests.
- Tests are still the unit of work. Aximo runs the scenarios you describe, and Nexus and NoCode build suites your team maintains. Someone still decides which scenarios exist and keeps them current.
- What "correct" means for your product. Genesis can turn requirements into test cases, which is a real strength. Your design system, brand tokens and business rules also define a bug, and each release has to be judged against them.
- Evidence for the release decision. Aximo reports whether each scenario behaved as expected. The people who approve a release also need the open questions and what was not tested, in a record they can sign.
In fairness, Autify covers ground ShipperAG does not, including real mobile devices, desktop apps and a managed service. The question is what your team needs to hold at the end of each release.
Autify vs ShipperAG at a glance
Autify helps your team build and run tests, or runs QA for you; ShipperAG checks each release and hands your team evidence to sign. Here is how they compare as of September 2026.
| Aspect | Autify | ShipperAG |
|---|---|---|
| Built for | Engineering and QA teams, from individual testers to large organisations | Product and engineering teams that need evidence to approve each release |
| Approach | An AI testing agent (Aximo), AI test design (Genesis) and Playwright-based automation (Nexus), or a managed service | AI QA specialists check each release against your requirements, design system and business rules |
| Who writes and maintains tests | Your team describes scenarios or records tests, with AI to generate and fix them; or Autify's professional services do it | No suite to write: a coordinator picks the specialists each change needs, within your limits |
| Evidence and sign-off | A clear result for each scenario, with logs and console output | Every finding re-run by an independent verifier; Verified, Issue found, Needs input and Not covered in an evidence ledger, plus a report to sign or share |
| Platforms and devices | Web and mobile, including real iOS and Android devices; desktop apps on Aximo's Enterprise plan | Real Chromium sessions only, with phone and tablet sizes by emulation; Firefox, Safari and real devices not covered |
| Pricing model (as published) | Aximo: free trial credits, then from $99 a month billed annually; Enterprise custom. Nexus: Professional from $3,600 a year | From $149 a month, after a free 45-day trial |
| Availability | Available now | Private pilot (waitlist) |

Autify pricing, as published
Autify publishes prices for Aximo and Nexus. As of September 2026, its pricing page lists:
- Aximo Free Trial: $0, with 2,000 one-time credits that do not expire.
- Aximo Core: $99 a month billed annually, or $120 monthly, with 6,000 credits a month.
- Aximo Team: $450 a month billed annually, or $550 monthly, with 30,000 credits a month and script generation.
- Aximo Enterprise: custom, with on-premises or dedicated infrastructure and desktop app testing.
- Nexus: a free tier and a 14-day trial; Professional from $3,600 a year or $400 a month; Enterprise on request.
Aximo uses credits per step of each AI test run; larger models and mobile runs use more. Genesis and the managed service are not on the pricing page. When comparing Autify pricing, estimate your steps per run and runs per month. ShipperAG starts at $149 a month for 20 release checks, after a free 45-day trial.
Where ShipperAG is different
As an Autify alternative, ShipperAG is designed for the decision at the end of each release: is it ready, and can you show why? See how it works.
- Your context is the plan. There are no test cases to generate and review first: connect a preview or staging URL, add requirements, design system or brand tokens, business rules and API docs, and the coordinator picks the AI QA specialists each change needs, within your limits.
- Checks across the release. The specialists cover 13 quality areas, using a real browser, HTTP and API calls, automated accessibility rules and visual comparison against design tokens.
- Proof before it is reported. An independent verifier re-runs every finding in a fresh session. Language models help read context and write checks, but deterministic checks decide pass or fail.
- Four honest states. Verified, Issue found, Needs input and Not covered. When requirements are unclear or contradictory, ShipperAG asks instead of guessing.
- A record your team keeps. Results are sealed in a hash-chained evidence ledger. Your team signs off, or shares a self-contained HTML report with stakeholders; our UAT sign-off template shows what that approval should record.
When Autify is the better choice
Not every team needs an Autify alternative. Autify is the stronger choice when:
- You test native mobile apps on real devices. Aximo runs the same test on real iOS and Android devices; ShipperAG only emulates phone and tablet sizes in Chromium.
- You test desktop software, which Aximo covers on its Enterprise plan.
- You want test code you own. Nexus exports editable Playwright scripts, and Aximo's script generation lets coding agents write tests in Playwright, Selenium or Cypress.
- You need test design at scale. Genesis turns specifications and large codebases into structured test cases.
- You want QA run for you. The managed service pairs a named Autify lead with AI agents.
- You need to start now, with published prices, a free trial and offices in San Francisco and Tokyo.
The two can also sit side by side: Autify covers real devices and desktop apps ShipperAG does not reach, while per-release checks cover what changed. Read more in agentic QA vs test automation.
What ShipperAG does not do
- It is not generally available or self-serve. It is a private pilot with a waitlist: teams start with a free 45-day trial with up to 20 release checks, and paid plans start at $149 a month.
- It tests in real Chromium sessions only, including phone and tablet sizes with touch emulation. Firefox, Safari and real devices are not covered, and its reports list them under Not covered.
- It does not replace a maintained regression suite on a long-lived product. It is designed to run alongside one.
- It only tests targets you own or have written permission to test, inside the hosts you allow.
Other Autify alternatives
ShipperAG is not the only Autify alternative. As of September 2026, other options include:
- QA Wolf sells a self-serve platform at 1¢ per AI credit and 15¢ per runner minute, and Coverage as a Service, where its team builds and maintains your tests (QA Wolf pricing). See our QA Wolf alternative comparison.
- Momentic turns plain English into end-to-end tests for web and mobile, with a free plan and usage-based pricing. See our Momentic alternative comparison.
